DISCUSSIONS
Listen to brief presentations around similar thematic areas. These presentations will be followed by loosely structured conversations and led by a facilitator, who afterwards will provide a short summary of the discussion and salient insights. The discussion summary will be published in the conference proceedings along with the submitted abstracts (to be followed later by the working papers).

ACTIVITY GROUPS
Activity sessions address a specific system change challenge for large-scale transformation. Activity groups are knowledge sharing and bench-marking discussions focusing on emerging systemic design practices and applications in public, private, and social sectors. Facilitators will summarize the results of the activity and results will be published in the conference proceedings.

WORKSHOPS
In workshops all participants are invited to engage with innovators of the latest tools and methods of systemic design. Workshops allow facilitators to prototype and test new ideas and co-create new knowledge collaboratively with participants. Facilitators will lead hands-on activities, sharing their tools, methods, and strategies for social transformation, designing for complexity, and re-imagining governance.

CHARLES OWEN TRIBUTE
Charles Owen is a pioneer in connecting design and systems thinking. He is Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the IIT Institute of Design where he conducted research and taught until 2010. To participate in this session, participants submit proposals for presenting a review and re-evaluation of Charles Owen’s theories and/or projects through the lenses of contemporary systems theory and challenges. Prof. Owen’s biography, publications, and projects can be found at the Institute of Design website. Accepted participants submission will be published in the conference proceedings.
