THE SYSTEMIC DESIGN RESEARCH NETWORK (SDRN)
RSD8 constitutes the 8th annual Symposium of the Systemic Design Association (SDA), a cooperative educational group founded in 2012 which gathers together the Oslo School of Architecture and Design – AHO (Norway), the OCAD University of Toronto (Canada) and the Politecnico di Torino (Italy).
Besides the organization of the conference, the activities of the SDRN aim to:
advance the practice of systemic design as an integrated discipline of systems thinking and systems-oriented design
advance the knowledge, theory, and publications in the domains of systems-oriented design and industrial and social systems design methods in systemic practice
promote the creation of relationships and the sharing of knowledge between academy and industry
establish a vibrant online community to keep the debate on the topic alive beyond the conference.
IIT INSTITUTE OF DESIGN
The RSD8 conference is hosted by the IIT Institute of Design (ID). Founded by László Moholy-Nagy as The New Bauhaus in 1937, IIT Institute of Design (ID) is known for pioneering human-centered design and systems design. Today we are home to the only US design school devoted completely to graduate students. But ID is more than a graduate school. We are an international community of learners and practitioners building responsible, cooperative, intelligent futures to address the biggest issues of our time.
